Martin Modern

Type: Condo

Best Residential Design Apartment in Interior Design Excellence Awards 2022

Martin Modern is an unconventional condominium located within the heritage-rich area of the Singapore River. Designed by ip:li Architects, this architectural marvel is an exemplary expression of Brutalism infused with elements of the tropicana – a signature touch of the master architect.

To term the property a botanica sanctuary seems to be an oversimplification. Elaborate planning of its multitude of gardens ensures dwellers are greeted and engulfed by the captivating lush and opulent greenery at every turn. Within the building’s sculpted form are understated and elegant new luxury homes.

Home, Personified

As featured on The Peak

The openness and lightness effortlessly imbue the space with an innate calming quality. Functionality of the connected spaces is of the highest precedence for the dweller of this home, a bachelor, for which the spatial layout has been planned in accordance with this requirement for efficiencies, as well as to create an intimate ambiance. Understated and elegant, Martin Modern is a sanctuary away from the outside world and an indisputable demonstration of luxury living for the 21st century.

The Modernist House

Generous volumes of ceiling height lend an air of openness, best experienced at the living and partial outdoor balcony. With impressive views of the city, the outdoor space is intended for frequent usage by its dweller, offering a lifestyle of respite from the bustle.

Martin Modern reflects the principles of modernism. Its restrained monochromatic colour palette with crisp white walls and greige marble flooring deftly matches with accents of dark tone detailing. Lush foliage flanks the outdoor bar table and chairs, bringing a precious piece of outdoors in.

Tessuto

The living space features the Tessuto Fragrance from Culti Milano; upon entering the space, visitors are enveloped by a warm, woody scent, evoking a long-forgotten memory within us, a feeling that seems so far away but yet very familiar, inadvertent but comforting.

The sensory experience brought by smell may be more illusory, while the memories it creates are more lingering and more emotional. They place memories, expectations, and hopes on the past, and with almost unrecognisable clues, they unyieldingly support the entire structure of memories. This hazy and imaginative space is wrapped in many passages of past events, containing strong personal emotions.

A Functional Space

The innovation-led ergonomics of the Aeron chair from Herman Miller combine comfort, utility, and iconic design, engineered with state-of-the-art adjustability to provide a bespoke level of comfort. Paired with a height-adjustable work desk, this home office is designed with productivity in mind for a variety of work requirements, while uncompromising on style at the same time.

Effortlessly Sophisticated

The contemporary furniture pieces are curated to reflect pragmatism yet are uncompromising on sophistication and quality. Masculinity is executed and achieved through dark tones of matt black and smoked oak, with detailing in matt bronze to enhance that sense of luxury.
